Why
In March 2007 I started a blog called PaintingTheTown. The blog was a photographic report on graffiti in Cape Town. It became rather popular, with love and hate for it a plenty.
I decided to stop the blog and rather focus on making a book on the Cape Town graffiti scene. Something tangible to represent the hours and hours spent hunting for photos and updating the blog.
A book focusing exclusively on the Cape Town graffiti scene has never been published although there have been some who have worked towards a similar goal. I decided to write this book, not because I will be the first to do so, but because I find the Cape Town graffiti scene fascinating and I believe that many other people will too.
