Who
My name is Matthew Olckers. I am the author of this forthcoming book on Cape Town graffiti.
My interest in graffiti started while at high school as happens with most writers. I have painted myself but found that I was much more successful at documenting graffiti than I was at painting it.
I co-organised the Artliftment Park Jam in April 2010 which was one of the biggest group murals painted in Cape Town. I hope to help organise more events like this to grow the Cape Town graffiti scene.
My interests outside of graffiti include contemporary art and economics. I am interning at the Stevenson and I also run an Economics tutoring company called Smash Eco’s.
