PlayOne is one of Cape Town’s most well known and respected writers. His unique character style has spread to all parts of the city and he constantly pushes the standard of legal walls. He also has a unique insight into graffiti in other parts of South Africa by co-owning Roadkill, South Africa’s only national graffiti publication.
Bzar is from a younger generation of writers who have pushed the level of bombing in Cape Town in the last few years. He has developed a unique and original style and is constantly experimenting with new ways to write his name.
Our second PaintingTheTown interview is with Motel7. She has become one of Cape Town’s top writers in the last few years and has also recently had major success in the fine art world. Her solo exhibition titled, “Tears and Castles” runs until 11 April at the 34 On Long Gallery.
